Lunasurf Futures Fins Honeycomb 6 Fin (Medium) Tri-Quad with a Luna Knubster
Size: Medium 145 - 180lbs 65kg - 80kg (Set includes 6 fins)
When designing this fin set, Ian Battrick and Lunasurf wanted to develop something with Futures fins that was a progressive template for all conditions, enhancing your enjoyment and performance through your whole quiver.
It is a perfect go to set of fins whatever board or waves you wish to ride at home or when travelling. If you could only take one fin set on your next trip this would be it.
Batty has been riding these fins on all his boards from 6 inch slop on the fish at home, to high performance boards to draining barrels on the semi gun. Timmy Turner has been threading perfect Indonesian tubes on them, meanwhile Hugues Oyarzabal, Ryan Carlson, Zoltan Torkos and more have been taking to the air on them as 3 fins, 4 fins and 5 fin set ups.
Drive, release and control - As quad or thruster, the wider base gives drive, a refined tip provides release and response, the over all template still offers great hold.
The trailer fin of the thruster set up is slightly smaller than the sides giving it a more lively feel. Falling under the medium size range - a tri quad with a fresh new 'Luna knubster included in the set, making it a 6 fin set.
(The 'Luna TMF knubster' is a center fin that can be added to any quad set-up. The fin will increase drive and provide directional control through turns without sacrificing speed, flow, or the freedom of movement typically associated with a quad. Therefore getting the best of both worlds of the thruster and the quad.)
An excellent fin from the high performance surfer to the beginner.
CONSTRUCTION: Built with a lightweight hexagonal core that provides a glass-on like flex. Honeycomb have a medium flex pattern, stiffer than Blackstix but more flexible than glass and Techflex.
FOIL: Flat foiled fins break free sooner, and are better at controlling speed. Often surfers prefer them in fast powerful surf where they do not need to create additional speed. If you have muscle memory from riding glass-ons, flat foiled fins will feel the closest.
50/50 QUAD REAR FOIL: Symmetrical foil rear fins on quads give a fluid consistent feeling that is predictable in all conditions.
